On Friday, my husband and I drove up to Massachusetts for a reunion at the summer camp where we met. Although he only worked there that one summer, I was a camper for seven years and a staff member for three, so I have a lot of memories there. It was great to reunite with old friends and be at camp again. There’s just something about it that’s so special, even after all these years. My husband commented afterwards that he loved seeing me in my element. The camp version of me is happy, more confident, and a lot calmer. I definitely need to find a way to channel those vibes into my crazy NYC life.
My camp is a Jewish camp and we celebrate Shabbat (our Sabbath) on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. For Friday nights, the tradition is that everyone wears white. I pulled this dress out of my closet when we were packing and realized it still had the tags on it. I think I bought it on sale at the end of last summer…and promptly forgot about it. I was a little worried about being a big wrinkle after a couple of hours in the car, but it turned out fine. I actually really love the silhouette of this dress and felt really good about how it hugged my curves! Obviously, my most stylish accessory is my Visitor name tag lol…and I went pretty simple with everything else 🙂
