I enter a lot of contests and giveaways. My feeling is that someone has to win…so why not me? I’ve been fortunate to win some pretty amazing prizes, but one of my most spectacular wins was last year. Bloomingdales tweeted about the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots, asking their followers to share what they would wear with the iconic knee-highs. I responded, as did thousands of other people, and by some luck, I was randomly selected as the winner! When the boots arrived, I was intimidated by them. Knee high boots are a little scary for a short girl, not to mention their steep price tag. Gorgeous though they are, I would never spend this much on a pair of shoes…shoes go on feet…outside! That said, I’ve had a fun time figuring out how to wear them, and I hope I’ve done them justice.
I wore this outfit for a Restaurant Week lunch with my girlfriends. We went to Fig & Olive and it was amazing! My favorite course was the Truffle Mushroom Croquette appetizer. Highly recommend it. Also, word to the wise: they have more than one location in the city, so make sure you know which one you’re going to before you get on the subway. #thesebootsweremadeforwalking

I’ve had my 5050 boots for 5 years now, which may be the longest time I’ve owned a pair of shoes without throwing them/giving them away. They are the best!
