I’m back after an unintentional hiatus! Things have been busy, and after a couple of postponements, I finally had time to shoot some outfits. This look was inspired by Adele and Krystal, but I took the striped button-down and blazer in a more casual direction. Although they are definitely a wardrobe staple, I never spend much on button-down shirts. But, after hearing such good things about AYR from Ashley and others, I decided to give it a try. This shirt is so well-made, and just a touch oversized. I love that the stripes on the pocket go the opposite direction of the rest of the shirt. And vertical stripes are great for petites because they elongate the torso. Adding a fitted blazer gives the outfit a more tailored look, even with jeans.
We shot this look at my favorite place to buy books on the Upper East Side: The Corner Bookstore. I’m all about supporting local bookstores, even when I order online. But, there’s just something about browsing the shelves in person that can’t be beat. I haven’t shared book reviews in a while because I haven’t been reading as much, but I’m thinking about bringing them back. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
