About a month ago, I spent some quality time at my neighborhood Gap, checking out a Fall fashion collab they did with Who What Wear. Gap and WWW hosted styld.by events across the country, and as part of the celebration they held a joint Instagram contest. The challenge was to show your modern take on denim. I decided to enter, so I submitted a picture of the purple denim and black ruffled shirt I was wearing that night. A few days later, Who What Wear commented on my photo to tell me that I had been selected as one of ten winners. I can’t even tell you how excited and honored I was! My prize was two-fold: a $250 gift card to Gap, and my picture featured with the other winners on the Who What Wear blog. Amazing!
When I got my gift card, I briefly considered holding onto it for a while…but in the end, I couldn’t resist Gap’s Fall collection. I decided to use the majority of the card on an investment piece: Gap’s super warm, super cute twill parka. With a detachable fleece lining and fur trim on the hood, it can easily become a multi-season coat. Needless to say, I’m already obsessed, and my friend Jessica told me she feels the same way about her Gap parka that she picked up last year. I also decided to add to my pear-friendly dress collection with a plaid flannel shirt dress.
On Saturday, my husband and I went out to Long Island to celebrate my dad’s birthday. I ended up wearing both of my new Gap pieces, paired with tights and an also new pair of boots from DSW. This is an outfit that I will definitely rework and re-wear throughout the season. Thanks again to Gap and Who What Wear for choosing me!
