I saw the long vest on a couple of bloggers, and I thought it would be a really great piece to transition from summer to fall. There are so many options with vests in general, and this particular style is perfect for work, no matter the season. The only drawback is that its resemblance to a blazer means it falls into the same price threshold. Since I wasn’t sure I was going to love this trend, I searched the outlets for an affordable option, and I found this one at Ann Taylor. Although my vest isn’t available online, I found a super similar option from the Banana Republic Outlet.
For this outfit, I used the vest and a skinny belt to streamline a trapeze-style t-shirt dress. While I love the fit and flow of this dress, my pear shape requires some definition at the waist, so this layered approach worked just right.
