One more look from Colorado! After checking out some great local spots and celebrating a beautiful wedding, we spent our last day at my husband’s aunt’s house for brunch and family time. We were going straight from her house to the airport, so I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable enough for flying, but it was in the 90s AND I didn’t want to dress too casual. The perfect balance was wearing a dress with sneakers. This particular dress is very lightweight, and off the shoulder, with a flattering (but still comfy) defined waist. I’m really into florals this year, and I especially love the color palette of this dress…which just so happened to coordinate exactly with my pink sneakers.
My husband’s family loves playing cards, and it’s not something I’ve ever gotten into. But, I was perfectly content to hang in the hammock and look out at these gorgeous mountain views while they played. My husband and I have been together for 13 years now, and we’ve been fortunate to celebrate a lot of happy occasions with each other’s families. As an only child who comes from a pretty small family, it can sometimes be overwhelming to be among so many (very outgoing) relatives, but they truly count me as one of their own, and that means the world. After what was an emotionally draining month at work, this weekend away was exactly what I needed to recharge.
