On Saturday, we went out to Long Island for a friend’s wedding. My husband and the bride have been friends since high school, and she and I have gotten close over the past 10+ years, so it meant a lot for us to be there. When the invitation came and it said black tie optional, I knew exactly what I was going to wear. I found this gorgeous polka dot dress at the Rent the Runway Sample Sale last year, it was one of my best deals ever. The dress starts at $338, and I paid $39! Amazing, right?! Well, if you’re in NYC, the latest RTR Sample Sale starts tomorrow at 260 Sample Sale, and you should definitely check it out! I’ll be there tonight for the VIP preview, so make sure to follow me on Snapchat (samevenyc) and Instagram to get a sneak peek of what you can expect. The sale opens to the public tomorrow (9/27) at 9 am and goes through Sunday (10/2).
Polka dots are my favorite pattern, and you know I love black and white, so put those together in an A-line silhouette and you’ve got dress perfection. I also really liked the tea-length, although it wasn’t something I would normally consider. It made dancing a lot easier than in a floor-length dress, and I got to show off my sparkly heels.
PS I would normally bring a crossbody or a clutch to a wedding, but I opted for a bigger bag so I could bring my camera. These pictures are definitely some of my favorites, so it was totally worth it!
Earrings: Etsy (similar), Dress: Jill Jill Stuart via Rent the Runway Sample Sale (similar black & white, shorter polka dot dress), Heels: Zara (similar Mary Janes, similar taller heel), Bag: Nine West (similar crossbody)
Love this dress on you – and what an awesome price!
