When it comes to skirts, I’m usually a creature of habit. Much of my work wardrobe is made up of (often) pleated A-line midi skirts in various colors or patterns. The A-line silhouette flatters the waist and camouflages the hips, which can be good if you’re self-conscious about your lower half. But recently, I decided to try a new silhouette. I always kind of assumed that anything that had a seam midway down wouldn’t look good on me, but this skirt did. It also convinced me to make an exception to my “no uneven hems” rule. Maybe it’s the ruffles, or the vertical stripes, but this skirt makes me feel so good when I put it on! I actually tried it on in a bigger size for an Instagram Story try-on session a few weeks ago, and ended up ordering it online a few days later when I couldn’t get it out of my mind. So, the lesson here is give a new silhouette a try! You never know what might look good on you!
In other news, we’re heading to the North Fork of Long Island for the weekend with friends and I could not be more excited! Wine, beach, and relaxation are all on the agenda, and it’s going to be just what I need for a mid-summer refresh. Happy pre-Friday!
