Shopping for clothes can be a little stressful when you’re petite! You don’t want to alter everything, and you want to have options without having to run all over the place. It’s not just about pants and dresses that are short enough, but the general fit of everything. So, I figured I would share my favorite stores and brands that cater to petites. Consider this your petite shopping guide!
Although they can be a little overwhelming, department stores almost always have dedicated petite departments. My favorites are Nordstrom and Macy’s, which both have a wide variety of options in-store and online.
For work and weekend wear, Ann Taylor and LOFT are my go-to’s. They definitely have more variety online, so I will often try things on in store and then order the petite size. They will usually ship something to you for free if they don’t have it in the store, so make sure to ask before you pay shipping. Banana Republic is another great place to shop for petite workwear. They have so many classic pieces that will be wardrobe staples for years to come. All three of these stores have frequent sales, so be sure to sign up for their emails so you can save.
If you know your size well enough to shop online, I recommend checking out Gap and Madewell for casual wear and Anthropologie for more refined, dressier options. They have less variety in petite sizes, but still a lot of great options.
If you’re looking to elevate your style and you’re willing to spend a little more, believe me when I say that Gal Meets Glam is worth it! Maxi dresses and jumpsuits are especially hard to find in petite lengths, so I’m so glad that GMG offers so much of their line in petite too.
