It’s so easy to get caught up in the work day and forget to take a moment to breathe. But, it’s really important to give our brains (and our eyeballs) a break from staring at the screen, and when the weather’s nice, it’s even better to take that break by getting outside. Last week, my “work wife” Ally and I used the excuse of free cookie dough on #NationalCookieDoughDay to take an afternoon stroll to Washington Square Park. This iconic spot in Greenwich Village is a gathering place for locals, tourists…and dogs, and definitely worth a visit if you’re in NYC. I fit right in wearing this blue striped button-down and white eyelet skirt, the perfect summer work look! Both pieces were outlet finds when I was visiting my Mom for Mother’s Day weekend. There’s nothing more quintessentially summer than white eyelet, and it’s so easy to style.
This weekend was another low-key one, and I definitely didn’t mind. On Sunday, we got to spend some quality time with our nephew who just turned one, and meet our friend’s week-old baby. It’s funny how life shifts in your 30s. We used to have five or six weddings a year, but this year, we only have two. Instead, we have several friends and family members with babies under one, and a couple on the way. I guess you could say we’re growing up, and that’s not so bad.
