My husband and I are homebodies. If we don’t have plans with friends on the weekend, we’re perfectly happy ordering in dinner and watching something on TV while we hang out with Bones in our sweats. It’s rare these days that we’ll actually go out to dinner just the two of us, but with a generous nudge from one of the partner’s at his firm, we realized we were past due for a date night. It was still hot out even after the sun went down, so I threw on a striped romper and some wedge sandals. This romper is super flattering, with a wide waistband and tie, plus vertical stripes to elongate your torso, and ruffles on the arms to draw the eye up. It’s also great at showing off your legs, and a romper/jumpsuit priority, not too difficult to get out of when you need to go to the bathroom! No surprise that it’s only available in a few sizes online, but definitely worth a stop in-store.
We didn’t venture too far for date night, just down the block to a new-ish restaurant that we’ve been meaning to check out. After dinner, we stopped for a glass of wine at a nearby bar, and then picked up some ice cream to bring home. All in all, a great night, and so nice to put on real clothes and spend time together! We’ve been together since we were 19, and although we have a pretty good routine going, it’s definitely good to change things up and treat ourselves. Speaking of, I’m really looking forward to our trip to California in August. For some reason, I’m really itching for a getaway, but I know that it will be worth the wait!
