Have you ever found something online that you just keep coming back to? This polka dot dress caught my eye a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I read reviews, I looked at pictures of people wearing it, and finally I decided I couldn’t resist. Polka dots are my favorite, and you know how much I love black and white. Plus, it was so affordable that I had no excuse not to order it. When it arrived, I was so excited to try it on, and it fit perfectly. The details are so well done, from the bow, to the cut out, to the buttons down the front, and it’s so incredibly flattering. I felt fabulous in this dress, and I was so excited to wear it to brunch in Brooklyn with my work friends.
We had a fabulous time celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Mexican food and margaritas, and enjoying spending time together outside of the office. But, later that day we learned the terrible news that the President of our institution had died in a tragic plane crash. The days since then have been a blur of shock and sadness, and that’s why I’ve been MIA from the blog and social media. He was an incredible man, and I consider myself so lucky to have worked for him. I’m thinking of sharing more about him and the perspective this tragedy has given me…let me know in the comments if that’s something you’d be interested in. For now I’ll just remind you to hug your loved ones, wear things that make you feel good, and never take a single moment for granted.
