On Saturday night, we braved the cold weather and the crowds and headed to the tree at Rockefeller Center. Since we’ve lived in New York City for four and a half years, we’ve seen the tree before, so we would need a really good reason to subject ourselves to the craziness this close to Christmas. When my surrogate little brother called me up a few weeks ago and told me he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend at the tree, we decided that was pretty much the best reason there could be. It was such an honor to be there for their special moment! It was also very cold, so I was happy to be wearing this mixed material dress with sweater sleeves (under a heavy coat, of course).
I tried this dress/belt combo on at LOFT on Black Friday, and I loved it…but the belt didn’t quite fit. When Cyber Monday came around, I found the belt online and put it in my cart. But, when I saw that shipping costs would pretty much cancel out my savings, I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I tried to find a similar belt elsewhere, to no avail. Eventually, I tracked it down in a store and ended up paying full price. Clearly, it was meant to be.
