Just because I’m not going to an office anymore, doesn’t mean I can’t help you figure out what to wear! I worked in offices for more than a decade, and summer workwear was always challenging. It’s hot outside, but it’s chilly in the AC. If you take public transportation, the temperatures vary even more. A few tips: try to wear as much cotton and linen as possible. They’re breathable and lightweight fabrics. Keep a cardigan and/or a blazer at the office, or carry one in your bag. That way, you can wear sleeveless tops or dresses without worrying about modesty or freezing when you get inside. If you can get away with open-toed shoes, let your feet be free. If not, consider wearing them for your commute and bringing other shoes with you.
This top and skirt combination is from J.Crew Factory. You know I love a midi skirt, and the block print pattern really caught my eye. I actually wore this outfit for my last day at my old job, so it’s totally office-approved.
I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through July. I’ve been struggling with my desire to get out and explore with the need to take care of myself. My anxiety was pretty bad for a while, and I was having trouble balancing work, family, content, and my mental health. That’s part of why I decided to stop working, but I’m still figuring out how to manage my time and strike the right balance. It’s definitely an adjustment, and something I’m still working on. If you have any tips, please share!
