This outfit solved several problems for me. I’m honestly getting sick of my winter wardrobe, and as the days drag on, I’m forced to be more creative. I’ve had this skirt for a while, and as much as I love the tie-waist, the form fitting fabric makes me a little self-conscious, especially when tucking in my top. A long cardigan was the solution, and added some color to my usual black and white. The plaid flannel is super comfy and warm, but I didn’t think it would be nice enough for work. Dressed up with a skirt, tights and metallic flats, it works. An important reminder that style is often about thinking outside the box and figuring out how you can re-purpose what you already have!

I’m in love with your Betsey Johnson flats! I’m screwed the day cap toes go out of style because I’m never giving up the look.

Thank you! They’re pretty much like slippers
I found them on Rue La La a while back, and was so excited!
Lovely outfit! I like how you layered this outfit by adding a cardigan.

Thanks so much! Layering is essential for NYC winters, and it’s a fun way to change things up.
Love the gingham mixed with the teal!
Thanks, Tara! I always try to add a little color!
