I feel like we’ve become a bit cynical about storms in New York City. Too many times they over-predict, and it ends up being nothing. This time though, they were totally right. Jonas dropped over two feet of snow on NYC between Friday and Saturday, so much that restaurants weren’t delivering and Blockheads had to close after promising $3 margs all day long. We holed up at home, not setting foot outside, except to walk the dog.
When we finally emerged on Sunday, it was still a mess, but mostly walkable…and actually kind of pretty. The hubs and I headed down to Union Square to do some suit shopping for his brother’s wedding. We stopped in the park to snap these photos before stopping at City Bakery. I treated myself to a hot chocolate because calories don’t count on snow days, right? If you’ve never had one, I highly recommend it. It’s basically liquid brownie!
Anyway, I wanted to wear something that was warm, but still stylish, so I opted for leggings and a tunic-length sweater. Add a floppy wool hat and my trusty Sorels, and I was set for snow. I was lucky enough to find these boots at TJ Maxx at the end of the season last year, but actually a lot of Sorel snow boots are on sale online right now. I linked to a bunch below.
Hat: H&M, Earrings: BaubleBar, Sunnies: Charming Charlie, Button Down: Old Navy (also love this one), Sweater: LOFT, Necklace: J.Crew (similar), Leggings: LOFT (similar), Boots: SOREL via TJ Maxx (similar), Backpack: Topshop via Nordstrom (similar)
