Polka Dots for a Picnic

When we were in Delaware over the long weekend, we made sure to dedicate a few hours to shopping at the Tanger Outlets. All of the July 4th sales were in full swing, so the deals were extra good. My husband and I both scored big at J.Crew Factory, and per usual, I couldn’t wait to wear some of my new things. Hubs took this week off, so we made a rare weeknight trip to Central Park with Bones and met our best friends for a picnic last night.

Although it got up into the 90s during the day, evening in the park was beautiful, with just the right amount of breeze. I changed out of my work clothes into an eyelet accented tank and polka dot shorts.

I kept my hair in the milkmaid braids that are a godsend on hot days (and got me tons of compliments throughout the day). It’s super easy: braid hair into two low ponytails and tie off with a clear elastic. Wrap each braid around your head and pin on top with several bobby pins. If your hair’s long enough, you can cover the elastics with the end of the opposite braid. Add some hairspray for hold and frizz control (I clearly needed more at this point, yikes!)
