In Monday’s post, I wore a cozy coat over a turtleneck. Today, I’m layering one under a short sleeve blouse. (J.Crew’s tissue turtlenecks are my favorite.) I ordered this top on sale from Draper James…plaid with a bow, who could resist?! I love the little details, and I carried the bow motif through to my earrings and shoes.
This has been quite the week in our country. Yesterday was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was excited by the news of the Senate flip, and then appalled by the siege on our government. It was scary to see the chaos at the Capitol, the pure hatred and anger that powered the mob. I was a little heartened to see senators and representatives from both sides of the aisle condemn the violence, but I’m worried for the next couple of weeks. Some bloggers and influencers are still afraid to speak on topics of social justice and politics, but for me, this is about values and ethics. I have hope for the future of our country, but we all need to be informed and not afraid to stand up for what we believe is right.
