Whoever decided that ponchos were on trend was clearly a fan of cozy chic! It’s essentially like wearing a blanket, which is great because you’re always comfortable and warm, but it can be challenging not to look shapeless, especially if you’re on the shorter side and/or curvy like I am. This plaid poncho has buttons on the side, which definitely help, and I added a wide belt to cinch my waist.
When I first got dressed, I had a plain gray turtleneck under the poncho, but then I decided to play up the pattern and go for stripes. It works because everything else is neutral and the colors are complimentary.
Since it was unseasonably warm again in NYC this weekend, I didn’t even need a jacket when I wore this outfit to dinner with friends. It’s crazy in the city at this time of year, but we get a bit of a reprieve right after Christmas. I love seeing everything and everyone decked out for the holidays!
