When you’re wearing a solid color, how you accessorize really makes the outfit. This dress is the most gorgeous shade of burgundy, and I love the puff sleeves and ribbed texture (not to mention the flattering A-line). But, I still wanted a little something more, so I focused on adding in pearl details from head to toe. Take a closer look at my hair clip, earrings and socks to see what I mean. The little things can really make a big impact!
It was actually really warm out when Lauren and I shot these photos, but Fall temps are finally coming our way later this week. I have to admit, I’m more than ready for layers. It’s been a little challenging, in a great way, to figure out which of my clothes still fit from last year. Seeing my body change so much has been incredibly rewarding, but it has definitely complicated how I see myself. I’ve been thinking a lot about body image and body confidence. Yes, I’m a much smaller size than I’ve been in a long time, but that doesn’t mean that I’m automatically comfortable and confident. I still get self-conscious, and there are still plenty of things that don’t flatter my curves (which, by the way, will always be there). So, I guess what I want to say is that we all have moments of doubt and worry, no matter our shape or size. It’s so important to take the time to find what makes you look AND feel good, and I hope that what I wear gives you inspiration to do that.
