Dressing up for holiday parties and New Year’s Eve can be so much fun! The last thing you want is to be self-conscious about your shape. You want to accentuate it! So, for those of you who are blessed with curves like mine, here are a few tips when shopping for the perfect party dress:
- Opt for A-line silhouettes, but be careful that the skirts aren’t too full. If there’s too much fabric in the skirt, it takes away from the definition an A-line provides and can make you look bulky.
- Try dresses that have sashes or belts at the waist, or add one to create or accentuate a defined waistline.
- Draw the eye up with dresses that are sparkly, lacy or sheer on top and plain on the bottom.
- Try a dress with a ruched bodice or a wrap waist. These styles are almost always flattering.
- Avoid dropped waists and be careful with peplum and big pleats.
