I live and work in Manhattan, and I don’t make it out to Brooklyn and Queens all that often. But, one day last week, my friend Ally was heading to DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) after work and convinced me to come along. DUMBO is situated right along the East River, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges (hence the name), and it boasts some seriously amazing views of the city! The last time I was there was for a wedding in the fall, and I was wearing a gorgeous off-the-shoulder cocktail dress. This time, I was dressed for work in a navy eyelet dress that is the perfect example of why I love wearing dresses to the office when it gets warm out.
This dress is pretty great. It’s styled like a shirt dress with buttons up the front and a modest neckline, but there’s also some volume to the skirt without overemphasizing the hips. Eyelet is always fun for spring and summer, and this dress comes in both navy and a vibrant Kelly Green. Bonus points for pockets and an elastic waist! It doesn’t take much, right? Hope your week is off to a fantastic start!
