Statement CoatEven though we don’t celebrate Christmas, we still have our traditions. Yes, it is true that Jews eat Chinese food on Christmas, and this year, we ate it twice. We spent Christmas Eve with a few friends at our place, and then headed up to my in-laws on Christmas itself. I have to say, I love how New York City empties out when the holidays finally roll around. It’s so crazy right before and after, full of tourists, shoppers, and New Year’s Eve revelers, that a couple days of quiet are a welcome change. We took the opportunity to snap some pictures in a playground near our building. It’s usually buzzing with activity, but not on Christmas.

More about that beautiful purple coat at a later date…I’m obsessed! The rest of this outfit could definitely be my winter uniform. I snatched up the simple gray sweatshirt on sale at J.Crew, and knew I wanted to add some color to it. Add some gold baubles and leopard loafers, and I was set for a relaxing day with the fam. Since we all know that leopard is basically a neutral, I highly recommend picking up a pair of leopard print flats. You’ll wear them more than you expect.
