Valentine’s Day is almost here, so I thought it would be a good time to talk about love. I don’t mean romantic love, although I’m grateful to be celebrating 15 years with my Valentine! But, as I wrote when I shared this look from Hawaii, I think it’s also important to make sure you have a loving relationship with yourself. Are you taking care of your body? Spending time with people who lift you up? Doing work that fulfills you? Speaking up for what you want and need? And of course, wearing things that make you feel good? You can and should love yourself in a swimsuit. There are so many options out there these days, and we all deserve to feel like a total beach babe.
I was actually more nervous to wear this bright red one-piece than some of the bikinis I brought on our trip. Somehow when we go on vacation in the winter, I always get sick in the weeks before the trip. This was no exception, as both Rob and I got completely socked by a terrible cold/cough situation for two weeks at the beginning of the year. Work was also super busy pre-vacation, so needless to say, I didn’t get to the gym at all…but that didn’t stop me from wearing what I wanted. Red is a color that gives me confidence, and the ruffles on this suit were just too hard to resist!
