After celebrating my birthday on Thursday, Rob and I got up on Friday morning, packed, and drove to the Boston-area for the long weekend. We spent the first couple of days with friends, and the latter part with family. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was beautiful! We shot a couple of outfits so I could share some weekend style. This is what I wore on Saturday, when we were headed to tea at the Boston Public Library. I wanted to look cute, but I knew we would be walking around a lot later on in the day, so I should wear supportive shoes. Clearly, I’ve been having a moment with black at the end of the summer, but this dress is so comfy and easy to throw into a suitcase that it was a no-brainer. As we were getting ready to snap these photos, we saw a marriage proposal, accompanied by a mariachi band! Since I had my camera out, I was able to snap a few photos of the couple, and they were so grateful. It was such a heartwarming moment to witness!
As you may know, I grew up south of Boston, and the city still holds a special place in my heart. While I definitely feel fortunate to live in New York City, there’s a certain feeling that I get when I’m in Boston that I don’t get anywhere else. It’s hard to describe…maybe it’s the memories, hearing the accents, seeing familiar places, and being among my fellow Boston sports fans, but I just feel at home. Needless to say, I’m always happy to get back there, and I definitely need to do it more often!
