Last week, we realized that pretty much all of our friends were going to be out of town for the 4th of July. So, we decided it would be a good time to get out of the city and spend time with my mom on Long Island. It was great to be somewhere quiet, with grass and trees and empty sidewalks. As much as I usually love living here, I have to admit that the nonstop craziness has been getting to me lately. So, being able to relax, eat good food, and spend quality time with some of the people that mean the most to be was much needed. The pup had a great time, and I can already tell how happy he’ll be to have a backyard of his very own.
Yesterday, we snuck in some pool time before heading back to the city. This little black romper was easy to throw on post-pool, and very comfortable for traveling. I love the crochet and lace details, and of course, the pockets. The tough thing about rompers is managing to look like a grownup in them, but I think this one does the trick. (For anyone worrying about the romper bathroom issue, I had no problem getting in and out of this one when I needed to go.)
Fireworks on the 4th always remind me of how much I love the little things. I’m such a kid at heart and I think it’s super important to appreciate simple moments. My little Kate Spade pouch captures that sentiment well too. Sometimes, it’s okay to eat cake for breakfast! Oh, and please ignore my other accessory…love my dog, but he’s a shedder!
