I have a little bit of a preppy side, but it’s definitely not my signature style. So, while I’ve always liked Lilly Pulitzer’s bold, colorful prints, they’ve never been worth the price tag for me. Of course, when Lilly announced a collaboration with Target, I knew I had to check it out. These collaborations always insight hysteria, and Lilly would probably be the worst. Fortunately for me, a shoppable preview was planned in Bryant Park, within walking distance of my office. A couple of work friends and I braved the crowds (and endured the line) to experience the Lilly-fied Bryant Park Grill and check out the collection. Super fans came decked out in head to toe Lilly. They had artists painting Lilly patterns, and turned another part of the park into a lounge, including a juice bar staffed by tuxedoed models.
Although there were quite a few pieces and prints I liked, this top was the only thing I ended up buying. The bright floral print is the perfect for spring and summer nights, and it was an easy choice to pair it with white jeans for an al fresco dinner with friends.
