I had the day off on Friday, so my mom came in for some much needed girl time. We had lunch at Eataly, and walked around admiring ALL the food. It was the last day of Passover, which means I couldn’t eat pasta or bread, so clearly I need to go back again soon! After lunch, we went to the FIT Museum and saw two fablous exhibits. The first was called Faking It, and chronicled the history of originals, copies and counterfits in fashion. It was amazing to see how similar some of the fake pieces were to the designer’s creations. Then we walked through a gorgeous collection of YSL and Halston fashions from the 70s. I could definitely see some of the trends that have made a comeback in recent years, like athleisure, floral maxi dresses, jumpsuits and safari jackets. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in NYC over the next couple of weeks!
Since I knew we would be walking a lot, I wanted to wear something comfortable. The weather was still cool enough for (faux) leather, so I went for contrast, pairing leggings with a boxy tee, open chambray shirt and sneaks.
