For me, one of the scariest things to wear as a pear-shaped woman is a pencil skirt. As you know if you read this blog regularly, my go-to silhouettes are the A-line and fit & flare, and although I’ve tried more form-fitting styles before, it’s rare that I find one that I feel good in. But, when I saw these knit separates from Ann Taylor, I decided to give them a go, and I’m so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone. Not only are they incredibly figure-flattering, but stretchy and forgiving too. I basically felt like I was wearing pajamas all day, AND I felt super confident…what could be better?! Sadly, the top is no longer available, and the skirt is only available in a couple of sizes. But, scroll to the bottom of the post for some other options I found.
This is going to be my last blog post for a little while because…we leave for vacation on Saturday morning!!! I’m so excited to spend a week in California with my husband, and I can’t wait to put up my out of office. I’ll be taking a break from posting here while we’re gone, but make sure to follow along on Instagram for snapshots from our trip. After we’re back, stay tuned for lots of fun vacation style!

This skirt and this top are a great option too. For a more conservative look, try this top and this skirt.
