So, you want to try the crop top trend without looking like a teenybopper? Don’t be afraid. It’s actually really easy and a lot of fun! Just follow these steps:
1. Choose a top that looks like something you would wear if it were regular length, and remember that just because it may be inexpensive doesn’t mean it should look cheap. Also, opt for a versatile color or pattern so your crop top doesn’t become a one-hit wonder.
2. Select a bottom with a high, defined waist that will only show a sliver of stomach. Steer clear of super tight and short mini skirts, but be sure to balance out a flowy top with a more fitted bottom.
3. If you’re still nervous about showing some skin, add a cute jacket or blazer. Make sure it’s fitted, and in a complimentary color or neutral so it doesn’t take away from the rest of your outfit. Most of all, just be confident!

I love this!! I tried wearing a tight crop top, but it wasn’t for me, but I like this looser fit idea!! Thanks!

Definitely try it! This one is on sale (and I happen to own it myself). The fit is loose, but not so much that you’re drowning and lose your shape. Can’t wait to see what you put together!
I don’t think I’ll ever be a crop-top person. Recently I tried to wear, like, a sheer shirt on a night out, thinking that would be a less-stressful version for me, but I worried about it all night!
Totally fair. It’s a challenging trend, and showing skin is a little scary to say the least. You could also try a cropped sweatshirt over a dress, like I did for my LOFT event, or something like the shirt in this post over a black cami.
