As soon as Thanksgiving is over, everyone immediately switches over to holiday mode. For a lot of people, that means picking out a Christmas tree and putting up wreaths and lights. In our house, we start the countdown to Hanukkah! The first night is December 18, so it’s coming up soon. I’ve always been very proud to be Jewish and really enjoy sharing my culture and traditions with people. I want Seth to feel that way too, and I’m excited to celebrate with him this year. Last year, we wore our first set of matching Hanukkah pajamas, and here we are again! I love the vibrant blue dreidels on these, plus they’re super comfortable. They’re from Carter’s, which is one of my favorite places to shop for Seth.
We spent Thanksgiving at my mom’s house on Long Island, which was so nice. In the days before and after, we had lots of visitors. It was really fun to see people and spend some quality time with out of town friends and family. But, I’m also very happy sitting here writing this all alone in my apartment (introvert life). I’ve been recording House Hunters to watch on nights Rob is out. It’s not the guiltiest pleasure, but I like it!
I’ve shared some thoughts about this on Instagram lately, but just a reminder that the holiday season can be a mix of emotions for people. It can be both happy and sad, overwhelming in good and bad ways. It’s also busy and stressful, and I try to treat people with a little extra kindness and patience. I hope you will too.
