On Saturday, my cousin (/brother) moved to Queens. For the past few years, we’ve been lucky to live five blocks apart. So, while I’m still happy to be in the same city, going to another borough feels like so far away. That said, his part of Queens is an adorable, culture-rich neighborhood with a large Greek community (see: the mural in these pictures). I can’t wait to try the food!
If you’ve been a longtime reader of LPP, you may remember this dress from last summer, when I wore it to a wedding. For that more formal occasion, I paired this pretty shade of purple with heels and a statement necklace. Over the weekend, we went to a graduation/birthday party at a nice restaurant and then out to Queens for a BBQ at my cousin’s new place. Flat sandals and a bright bag struck the perfect balance and showed how versatile this dress can be. Dear Summer, I love you.
Dress: dELiA*s (similar color, similar style), Bag: TJMaxx (similar), Sandals: c/o Fibi & Clo, Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (similar), Earrings: BaubleBar (similar), Bracelet: BaubleBar, Watch: Timex (summer version)
Love the versatility of the dress and the sassy sunglasses. I shy away from that shade of purple because it feels young, but you pull it off in a way that’s anything but. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks, Elena! Purple is my favorite color, so I don’t really shy away from any shade of it. That said, I feel like there are certain colors that can look young. It’s all about the structure of the piece and how you style it!
