All of a sudden, Christmas is less than a week away. You still have a few people left on your holiday list, and you also need a hostess gift for Christmas and New Years Eve…what do you do? Fortunately, there are a number of gift ideas that work in a short time frame. For you “leave it to the last minute” shoppers, try starting here:
- Pick up a bottle of wine, or some other kind of liquor that you know the person likes. Put a bow on it or use one of those bottle sized gift bags to make it look festive.
- Scour Pinterest for baking ideas (like the cookies above) and whip something up in your kitchen. Homemade gifts are always appreciated, and yummy! Look for holiday themed ziploc bags or containers for packaging.
- See if the recipient’s favorite stores offer e-gift cards. You can have the gift delivered right to their inbox, and some places even let you purchase ahead of time and select a delivery date.
- Head to your local movie theater and see if they offer gift cards good for movie tickets. Movie prices are so high these days that everyone will enjoy the treat.
- Shop the bins at stores like Forever 21, H&M and Sephora. You know those bins near the checkout that always catch your attention? Sometimes their contents are just a rip-off, but there are some quality quick picks, and you won’t even have to go deep into the store.
- When all else fails, take the person to dinner. A nice meal and a night without cooking or cleaning goes a long way.
