A little black dress should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. Even though I’m not really going anywhere right now, I couldn’t resist this maternity version. I love that it has structure without being restrictive, which is especially important right now. Instead of adding a necklace like I usually would, I went with a scarf. Total French vibes, don’t you think? The French somehow take classic, simple pieces and make them look totally chic.
On that note, if putting together outfits is overwhelming for you, remember that it doesn’t have to be complicated. You can wear neutrals or classic stripes and just add interesting accessories to make it more interesting. Or, you can wear something bolder and more colorful and keep the accessories minimal. What matters is that you feel good in what you’re wearing. Whether you’re venturing back into “real clothes” after a year of athleisure, or you’re learning to dress a new body for one reason or another, don’t be afraid. You just have to have a little patience, and I’m always happy to help search for you if you need it. PS If you’re looking for more French-inspired content, highly recommend Megan of Wit & Whimsy.
