Perfume and cologne are expensive, and when you’re paying a high price to smell good, you want to make sure you find a scent that you really like. What if you get halfway through the $100+ bottle and decide you’re over it? Sometimes one sniff from a sample in a magazine isn’t enough to make you commit. Enter: Commodity Goods, a company that believes that fragrance should be an affordable luxury and has the perfect system to help you find a fragrance that fits.
So, how does it work? For only $9, Commodity will send you a packet of samples (called a fitting kit) with their entire men’s or women’s line. You have 30 days to try out the scents and choose your favorite. Then, you can apply the $9 towards the purchase of a full-size fragrance. The best part? If you can’t decide on just one scent, they offer something called The Trio which includes three 10 ml bottles that you can mix and match.
When Commodity contacted me to give me the scoop on their unique approach to fragrance, I was super intrigued. They kindly sent me both fitting kits to try out for myself. Although we didn’t take the customary 30 days to fully experience all of them, I made kindly asked my husband to spend some time sampling the scents with me. We aren’t regular fragrance wearers, and we found a few of the scents to be a little overpowering, but we definitely had some favorites:
