The last time I wore this floral midi dress, it was warm enough for bare legs. This week, it’s only gotten up to the 30s, and yesterday we had a lovely wintry mix that turned the streets and sidewalks slushy. I am definitely over winter, and I’ve been layering my warmer weather pieces over long sleeve tees and turtlenecks so I can wear them now. This floral midi dress is a little more of a boho vibe than I usually go for, but it’s a pretty pattern and I like how it moves. It’s also long enough that I can wear it to work, with or without tights, and that’s always a plus.
This weekend is going to be a fun one! My cousin Adam’s birthday is tomorrow, and my mom’s is next Friday. Since we’ll be away next weekend, we’re celebrating both this Saturday! I’ve mentioned before that my cousin and I have a special relationship. We’re from a small family, and we’re both only children. Growing up, we lived halfway across the country from each other, so we only saw each other once or twice a year. We were in neighboring states for much of college, and now we’ve been in the same city for quite a while. Adam has been there for me through some tough times, and we’ve also celebrated a lot of happy occasions together. I’m incredibly grateful to have him, his wife Juli and their son Josh (who I consider like a sister-in-law and nephew) in my life. I’m also very lucky to have a close relationship with my mom. She’s coming in for brunch with the fam, and then we’re going to have a little staycation at a hotel near Central Park. Our only definite plans revolve around meals, which is no surprise, and actually totally fine. I’m always happy to just spend time together, so it doesn’t really matter what we do. What are you up to this weekend? Happy pre-Friday!
