Everyday Outfit

Yesterday’s outfit was one of my favorites. It was something that would have been totally outside my comfort zone two years ago, but now I don’t let assumptions or rules dictate what I can and should wear. A petite pear can wear a colorful patterned romper and look fabulous! Today’s outfit, by contrast is less fun and adventurous, but more real. During the day on most weekdays, you will find me in some variation of the boyfriend jeans + tee + sneakers combo, with my hair up, and little to no makeup. The truth is that taking care of a puppy (and going on at least four walks a day) calls for clothes and accessories that are comfortable, practical and easy to put on.  While I still enjoy dressing up on weeknights and weekends, my daily uniform is much more toned down.

For that reason, I was really excited to see that slip-on sneakers were on trend. I thought they were super cute…and then I realized that the best part is there are no laces for Mr. Bones to chew. Hashtag dog mom. Seriously though, unless you’re a celebrity, some of your outfits are going to be less exciting than others, and that’s okay. Just make sure you put a creative spin on the basics and make the most of colors, patterns and sparkle. PS Thanks to Kimberly from Penny Pincher Fashion who inspired me to pick up this denim vest!
