Lately, I’ve been looking for easy, affordable ways to make our apartment just a little more chic. I cook most weeknights, so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and I use a lot of spices. My spice rack was colorful, but it was kind of a mess, and it definitely didn’t hold as much as it could. So, when I found affordable sets of jars at World Market, I decided to do an easy spice jar DIY.
The Before:
First, find a label template that you like. I used this one from The Creativity Exchange that’s been on my Home Sweet Home Pinterest board for months. I ordered clear sticker paper like they recommended and printed a test run on printer paper before I committed.
Next I took an inventory of my spices and made a list of the labels I needed. I typed up the names in the template, printed on the sticker paper, and then used my paper trimmer and scissors to cut out the individual labels.
Before applying the labels, I rinsed out the jars, just to be safe. Once everything was matched up, I transferred my spices and put them back on the rack. I still have a few more jars to fill, but I love how it looks so far. The whole thing took less than two hours total and cost less than $30.
The After:
Here’s what you need:
- spice jar sets
- label template
- clear sticker paper
- paper trimmer
