Don’t you hate when you want to dress up, but you’re afraid of freezing your butt off in transit? This is definitely a problem in the city during fall and winter, so when a friend requested “festive cocktail attire” for his birthday drinks, a midi skirt and cropped sweater were the perfect solution. I fell in love with this pretty pleated number as soon as it went online, and finally snatched it up during one of Nordstrom’s many sales. Seems like a lot of other people did the same, because it’s almost sold out…but, there’s a super cute polka dot version that is equally amazing and also on sale. This skirt is the perfect shape to flatter my waist and minimize my hips, and it comes in petite, which is a must for midi and maxi lengths.
Notice anything different? Yup…my hair is lighter and shorter. I grew it out for a while and loved it long, but I was getting bored and decided it was time for a change. With Kerry Washington as inspiration, I went for the lob and bangs look. I’m still getting used to it, but I love how many ways I can style the bangs, and the highlights are fun too (my first balyage experience). Change is good…right?
