On Saturday night, we hosted a party for my husband’s 30th and fittingly, we had nearly 30 people at our apartment to celebrate. It was such a fun night, and one of those amazing times when friends from different times and places in our life come together and have a great time. My mom and my best friend organized a surprise guest: a singing telegram dressed up as a chicken! He delivered a custom song that described my husband to a tee.
Because I was going to be on my feet all night playing hostess, I wanted an outfit that would work with sneakers. So, I remixed my denim skirt with a gingham crop top. Gingham is one of those patterns that just says summer, so my new watermelon necklace from Kate Spade’s latest surprise sale was the perfect pop of color.
