On Saturday, I went to a really fun event put together by Penguin Random House’s Read It Forward. It was called the Book Fair for Grown-Ups…and it was literally (no pun intended) a throwback to the book fairs of our youth, but with a bar. There were books of course, but also stickers, tie dye, inflatable furniture, and literary fortune telling with cootie catchers. Oh, and we got a goodie bag with Lip Smackers and a glittery pen! Since I knew there would some serious 90s vibes, I chose my outfit accordingly. This corduroy dress is basically a grown-up version of something I would have worn as a kid. I wore it over my favorite layering turtleneck, and paired it with patterned tights and boots. A mini backpack seemed like the only appropriate bag to bring. So much fun!
I can’t believe it’s already Thanksgiving week! We’re heading out to my mom’s on Long Island and it will be nice to have some quality time with her and a few days out of the city. Are you shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday? I’m more of an online shopper this time of year because stores just get so crazy. I did brave a Best Buy once as a teenager when there was a boombox I really wanted for camp, so I’ve experienced the Black Friday chaos. More and more stores are starting their deals early, so I feel like it doesn’t necessarily have the pull that it used to. What do you think? Happy Monday!
