Last year, one of my coworkers observed that I always seemed to be wearing a coat she had never seen before. The truth is, I do have a bit of a coat problem…but there are just so many options for outerwear and I can’t turn down a good deal. Really though, there are only a few different types of coats that you actually need for this time of year: first, a puffer or parka for the really cold days. Second, a wool (or wool-blend) peacoat that can be casual or dressy, and works with a variety of winter accessories. Last, but not least, a long coat that goes over dresses and skirts. Although outerwear can be pricey, it’s often worth the investment.
