Yesterday, there was finally a break in the 90-100 degree heatwave we’ve been having and the temperatures only reached the 80s. I haven’t wanted to wear anything long on the crazy hot days, but I was happy to be able to don this pretty purple skirt for brunch with friends. There was even a little breeze, as you can tell from my crazy hair in the first picture.
If you’re on the petite side and you’ve been hesitant to try a maxi skirt, know that you can wear them. Look for one that’s the right length, and grazes the tops of your toes. Pleats are fine, but opt for skinny ones that will elongate your legs, and try to avoid any other details. I love that this skirt has a shorter lining and is semi sheer, making it sexy and sweet. Both pieces of this outfit were Forever 21 finds. I know that it can be a very overwhelming store for some, but there are definitely really cute, inexpensive things if you have a little patience and a keen eye.

Thanks so much, Merritt! It’s my most recent BaubleBar acquisition, and I can already tell it’s going to be a staple in my jewelry wardrobe

It’s fabulous, and not too long for my petite frame! Thanks for the kind words! xo
Love the floaty chiffon – it’s so pretty!
Thank you! My husband was confused that I was wearing a long skirt, but it’s so lightweight that it didn’t matter
