I don’t know for sure, but I would venture a guess that boyfriend jeans came into being when some entrepreneurial young woman threw on her bf’s jeans to run out and pick up some milk and wondered why hers couldn’t be just as slouchy and comfortable. The key with this style is to find a pair that’s only slouchy in certain places, and doesn’t cross the slouchy/baggy threshold. If they fit well in the butt, chances are that they’ll be flattering throughout. I also like to style my bf jeans with dressier, more fitted tops, like this gorgeous grid print blouse I found at the Elizabeth and James Sample Sale a few weeks ago. I’ve been going to the gym a few times a week, which is great…but, I discovered that my favorite sample sale spot is on the way to the subway when I’m heading home, which is both great and not so great 😉 #sorrynotsorry
