I was supposed to be spending Friday at Lucky Magazine’s Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference (aka LuckyFABB), but with Eva Chen’s impending departure, things were apparently too up in the air to go forward with the conference as planned. Canceling a week before did not go over well with bloggers and brands alike (although t did get me a shoutout), and it will be interesting to see what happens if they hold the conference at a later date.
Rakuten Linkshare, an affiliate network, decided to make the most of the situation and hosted their panel independently. Around a hundred bloggers and a dozen brands gathered at the Conrad Hotel to share advice and network. It was great to meet new people and be able to connect with some great brands! After the session ended, I met up with my two best friends at the rooftop bar. Loopy Doopy (yes, that’s really the name) is known for surviving large glasses of prosecco with popsicles. It was one of those places that I knew I had to try at least once, and I’m so glad I did…yum! As we wandered back toward the subway, we ventured into this urban oasis. I’m still a suburban girl at heart, so I always love finding spots like this where I can see some greenery!
As for my outfit, it’s always a little stressful to figure out what to wear to fashion industry events. You know everyone will look amazing and be totally creative. I went fairly simple with this look, including classic pieces and colors. This blush skirt was a sale rack find at Ann Taylor and I love the way it moves!
