One of my favorite things to do in the fall is go apple picking. Last year, we went on our weekend getaway to Mystic and brought Bones with us. He had a lot of fun, so this year, I looked for a dog-friendly place closer to home. I found Dr. Davies Farm, which is about an hour outside the city, and has over 4,000 trees and 15 different varieties of apples on 55 acres. The only unfortunate thing was that it was pretty humid, so while I wanted to wear the perfect apple picking outfit, I didn’t want to be too warm. As it was, I could have gone without my second layer, but I was really excited to wear this super soft poncho. I also wore my first pair of high-waisted jeans. I’ve heard that high-waisted styles are supposed to be a flattering fit for curvy girls, but for some reason, I was hesitant. I liked this pair, and I’m definitely excited to style them different ways!
We had a great time with our friends, and Bones was a happy boy (scroll down for more photo evidence!) Next weekend, we’re taking him to the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade. We’ve never been before, but we were very fortunate to be invited to hang out in the VIP (Very Important Puppies) section with parade sponsor, Rubie’s Pet Shop Boutique. If you’re in NYC, definitely stop by between 12 and 3 for a serious dose of cuteness. Otherwise, make sure you’re following Bones on Instagram to check out his costume!
