You know when you go into a store to return something…and end up coming out with something new? That happened to me last week when I stopped at Old Navy in Herald Square. I was just planning on bringing back a shirt that didn’t fit, but when I spotted a table of lightweight sweatshirts in spring colors and patterns on sale for $12…I couldn’t resist! Fitting then that I ended up taking these outfit pictures in a snow-covered (and freezing) Central Park. Even though spring seems far away, that doesn’t mean we can’t channel its warmth by starting to integrate florals and pastels into our wardrobes! Right? Right.
I love the idea of a casual sweatshirt with something dressy. This classic black pleated skirt was the perfect compliment! Plus, not only will this sweatshirt transition well to spring, it will also look great with a pair of jeans. It’s all about versatility. PS: a big thank you to my friend Carolyn for braving the cold and snapping some amazing photos!
Sweatshirt: Old Navy, Skirt: Ann Taylor (similar), Tights: Hanes, Booties: White Mountain via DSW (similar), Necklace: c/o Lulu Avenue, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Gloves: Van Heusen (similar)
That snow is beautiful! Makes me miss living in NY!
Thanks, Leslie! It’s pretty…but it’s cold!
I love the print on your sweatshirt! That is a great find

Thanks, Katie! I figured it was acceptable for $12
I love how this seems like a darker, muted color palette but it has those pops of spring colors. Very pretty and lady-like!
