The thing about fashion that can be frustrating is that it’s always at least a season ahead. Spring clothes and accessories start showing up in stores when there’s still snow on the ground. You treat yourself to a few things to chase the winter blues away, but then you have to wait weeks if not months to wear them…unless you get creative. One of my favorite ways to feed my need for instant gratification, and make my wardrobe more versatile is to style spring tops for cooler temps by layering them with button downs or turtlenecks. On an unseasonably warm day, like this one last weekend, just add a midi skirt and a pair of boots or booties and you’re set.
I’m also so glad that blush is back this year. It’s such a pretty, feminine color and I love this top with its layer of lace. It’s under $25 too, so who could say no?
Earrings: Kate Spade (similar), Sunnies: Madewell (similar), Turtleneck: J.Crew, Lace Top: H&M, Skirt: J.Crew (similar), Booties: Franco Sarto via Nordstrom
Love this!!! I am so eager to wear my spring pieces so I’ve been trying to make them work with my winter wardrobe.
