Finding the perfect raincoat is tough! Although I own a trench coat for dressier occasions, I also like to have a more casual waterproof coat that I can wear to work or on the weekend. It has to be a color that will go with a lot of outfits, have a hood, cover my butt…and not make me sweat like crazy. That last one is especially hard, and the raincoat I’ve been wearing just wasn’t cutting it. So, when I saw that J.Crew had come out with a new raincoat, I had to check it out in person. Although I was tempted by the pretty pink, my mom reminded me that navy would be more versatile, and we both actually ended up buying it. This coat fits all of the requirements (it’s mostly cotton!), it’s super cute, and it’s only $120!
I actually wore my new coat for the first time yesterday. It rained in the morning and early afternoon, and dried out later in the day. I normally wouldn’t wear white jeans on a rainy day, but I knew the weather wouldn’t last (and I’m so desperate for spring) that I went for it. I love this stretchy legging-like pair! Also, such a fan of Sperry boat shoes for wet days when you don’t want to deal with rainboots. They’re totally comfortable and you don’t have to worry about puddles…win-win! Tomorrow’s Friday, and I’m so glad we’re staying in the city this weekend. Looking forward to spending time with friends and hopefully relaxing a little too.
