When I was putting this outfit together, I couldn’t help but think about how much my style has evolved over the years. While I think it’s important to have a personal style, it’s also vital to remember that style is dynamic and can change drastically based on where you are in life at any given point. The only thing that remains a constant is that you have to stay true to yourself. Don’t wear something you hate because you think you should, or you want to keep up with the trends. That said, you can be true to you while still challenging yourself, keeping an open mind and stepping outside your comfort zone. Don’t put yourself in a box. Just because you never thought you could pull something off, doesn’t mean you never will.
Take me for example. My first inclination was always to layer over dresses with a cardigan or a blazer. I would pair them with a dainty necklace and a cute pair of flats. While that’s all well and good, I got to the point where it wasn’t interesting or adventurous enough. So, I started to think differently, re-framing the pieces in my wardrobe and being more creative. Now, I think of how I can layer under or over. I try to go for what’s interesting and maybe a little unexpected, instead of safe. And one more thing, sweats are not the only comfortable clothes on Earth. This ponte dress is one of the most comfortable things I own…and it’s in two of my favorite fall colors! Tell me, how has your style evolved? Would love to hear!

What a cute outfit! Liking the way your style is evolving
Thanks, Sam!
That necklace, in particular, is most excellent. I don’t have a real sense of style or a personal style; I’m very into neutrals & comfort. Sometimes I think I’d like to branch out & then I remember how much I like neutrals & comfort…
Thanks, Kate! You are more adventurous than you give yourself credit for! But, if you ever want to branch out more, you know where to find me
This so so cute! Love how you paired the dress and chambray together.
Thanks, Linda!
